Proof that I am a Fundamentalist

A man can fool a lot of people, but it is much harder to fool his own children.

My daughter attends a Lutheran Academy. Evangelicals of any kind are a strong minority, but there is no one — no one — there as conservative as we are. Anyway, on the way to school a few days ago Patience asked me for the websites of Northland International University and Bob Jones University (Patience is very popular with the faculty and staff of her great school. ). The following conversation ensued.

Daddy: I don’t have those by memory, but I could get them for you. Why?

Patience: Because Mrs. _____ is going to be looking for colleges this Summer where she could send her son. I told her that we think Bob Jones is a good school, and Northland and Clearwater Christian College, and she had never heard of them. So I told her that I would get some website addresses for her as soon as possible.

If that is not enough proof of my eligibility to be a card-carrying fundamentalist, there is no hope of proving anything.

Sigh.
