Courage in Congress
I just happened to turn on C-Span to hear Rep. Jeff Flake registering his vehement objection to a “bipartisan” bill on credit card regulation. The problem, he says, is that it is loaded with unknown earmarks. He’s getting ignored by the majority on both sides of the aisle. He keeps asking why congress is ignoring the rules by not letting everyone see what all the earmarks are, but he is being ignored.
I am happy when a man stands by principle even though it may appear that he is against something good. The problem is not credit card reform; the problem is all the under-the-table earmarking that simultaneously robs the people while giving pretense of helping the people.
Typical liberalism.
