Thanks for the article. (By the way, you might want to check your blog, there’s something wrong with it. My posts seem to get deleted. It must be some type of computer error.)

Anyway, I think this author makes a great point in that hymns which talk about some “glorious” Damascus road experience are really not needed. Most of the Christians I know have been Christians all their life and never lived some wild, “wicked” life and feel the need to shout about some emotional, life changing experience. Hymns have too often neglected those of us who have always led good lives and never went on the “reprobate” path and therefore have no need to effuse emotionally about some “lifestyle changing experience.” It’s as if the hymn authors completely forgot about those of us who have always led good lives and don’t have any “wicked paths” to turn from because we were never on that path to begin with.
