Dumbth

I always marvel at the idiotic questions that come from reporters during news conferences. Tonight while watching the news about the accident among the miners (and tragic death of one the rescuers), and since I happen to have my laptop on my knees, I share with my friends one more evidence of dumbth to add to Steve Allen’s long list.

Dumb Reporter: “This is probably not the news that you wanted to hear tonight.”

Hospital CEO and Spokesman:”Of course not.”

My translation: [Dripping sarcasm] Duh. Actually, there are some nights that we really hope for bad news, you moron. Next question.

(Perhaps someone with journalistic background can give a helpful rationale for these kinds of comments/questions).
