The Burrell and McCrorie Show
I am almost apolitical. Almost, I say, because I still find it very interesting. I have also been very fascinated by the American Evangelical’s love affair with politics in general, something unique to our time and country, I think.
Anyway, there is an interesting debate on Brian McCrorie’s blog. Brian is a friend of mine and, though an assistant pastor at Red Rocks Baptist Church (website not Mozilla friendly), is very involved in politics. I know Brian and generally agree with most of what he writes. Brian says, “get involved.”
I do not know Dan Burrell although I like almost everything that he writes. I’m sure that I would enjoy getting to know him. He is a pastor of a large church in Charlotte, NC. Dan recently highlighted a man that had a lot of influence in his life, Charles Wood. That same man had a significant influence in my life as well when I was in college. In fact, he spoke at my graduation ceremony. I shall never forget the title of his message, although I have forgotten much about the message. The title was Nothing. Anyway, Dan basically says, “I’m voting, but that’s about it.”
That aside, both Burrell and McCrorie are very alert to political happenings in this country and any discussion between them merits our attention because discussion between two men who are so similar in opinions is fascinating when their views diverge.

FWIW, we are in the final stages of launching a new church website which WILL be a kindler, gentler website!
