Missions Commissioning Service

This coming Lord’s Day evening I will have the special privilige of bringing the message for Jason Rice’s Commissioning Service in Grays Lake, Illinois. Jason was on our very first Baptist Youth With A Vision in 1996. Since then he has finished college, married, achieved high marks in completing seminary at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA, and has completed a Th.M at TEDS. He and his wife have two children and are planning on serving the Lord on the mission field. They are serving under the auspices of ABWE. I am very honored to have interacted with Jason’s zeal for missions over the past 11 years and I am looking forward to a wonderful service tomorrow night.

Jason’s vision for missions is contagious. I believe that he had a very significant role in starting a missions prayer emphasis at Northland Baptist Bible College before his departure, a ministry that was taken up by a friend. Thank God for these men and their vision. Thank God for men whose vision for mission is going deeper than the superficial cliché-tortured area of ministry we call missions.

Very cool.

Jason & I were classmates @ CBTS. (We both have sons named Gavin born just a few weeks apart!) I am thrilled to hear what the Lord is doing.

Where are they going?

I pray churches will see the value in a trained man going to the mission field and will support him in significant ways, so he and his family can get there soon!
