Together for the Gospel
If things go according to plan, Mark Garard (the other pastor in our church), Patience, and I will join Steve Brandon to drive down to the Together for the Gospel Conference.
Five-year-old Patience will hang out with cousins and Aunt Ruth. Ruth’s husband, my brother Tim who pastors Cleveland Park Bible Church , will be attending the conference as well. I think Aunt Ruth has plans to visit the Lousiville Zoo. Patience is excited about traveling down with Daddy and “Uncle Mark” (how she refers to Mark Garard).
I am looking forward to meeting face to face my esteemed sparring partner in the faith and regular contributor of two cents, Chris Anderson. We have communicated so much with blog, email, and telephone that I feel like I know him quite well, but I have never seen him before. It’s a funny world, this blogging sphere.

We’re excited about seeing Patience. I’m a little tempted to ditch the conference and go see the monkeys at the zoo, but…you can’t do everything in life.
TIM
Bob,
Didn’t know you were coming. We’ll have to get together.
Posted by: Ben at April 25, 2006 07:54 PMTim,
I can sympathize. But “Together for the Monkeys” just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as “Together for the Gospel.”
Ben,
I’ll look for you.
Posted by: Bob at April 25, 2006 08:03 PMah! goober! take me with you! actually, i can’t go, tho i would gladly pay very much to do so. i’ve been asked to a jr/sr banquet that weekend.
Posted by: mccarnan no. 3 at April 25, 2006 10:51 PMok, matthew christopher. this is big sister speaking. please tell me you’re using “goober” as some kind of expletive and that you’re not calling my pastor a “goober”?! (you really do need a dose of BYWAV, don’t you?)

What about “Together for the Zoo”??
For others: The reason behind Tim’s suggestion -
Our hotel had a shuttle to the conference center and back. One evening I approached a group of men who appeared to be potential conference attendees. I needed to know if they were waiting for the shuttle, so with all social assertiveness, I boldy asked the group of twenty or so, “Are you guy with the Together for the Zoo conference?”

I wished I went, but we are in between ministries right now.
Have your read the T4G statement on the gospel?
If you go to my blog, I have a link and a short review. If you so desire, let me know of your thoughts.
Blessings,
Steve
