Fire Alarm

4:25 AM — You should see what I see. Several hundred bed-headed, bleary tourists and business people (and Tetreau, Linscotts, and Jennie) sitting in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn. I have absolutely nothing to say about it. I usually get up about this time anyway, but it’s obvious most everybody else doesn’t. The nice thing about Florida is that we don’t have to be freezing while we sit out on the asphalt.

Sounds better than fire drills in Wisconsin.

“Fire drills in Wisconsin” reminds me of one of the scariest nights of my life. I worked midnight shift on security while at Northland. One night we had a fire drill for the womens dorm. I had to stand there by the sidewalk as they filed by us on their way to the library. Those girls looked much different (and scarier) at 10pm than they did at 10am!
