Quote of the Week
Men’s brains are not designed to listen to women’s voices.
This is the quote of the week for me. Not that I believe it (Do I dare?). Yet another part of me thinks that this is the scientific evidence I’ve been looking for! I have always instinctively wondered this, but now evidence is out. Read it about here.
Hat tip to the Still Unmarried Ben Wright. (Does anybody wonder why when he finds stuff like this?)

For Ben case, perhaps Paul would note, “It’s a gift.” :)

Posted by: Greg Linscott at April 3, 2006 12:31 PMYou can say that again, Greg! Actually, I probably wouldn’t have come up with anything quite that spiritual myself. But if you guys want to have equal access to my sources, you can sign up for the daily e-mail here.
Posted by: Ben at April 3, 2006 01:23 PMBen,
Greg did say it again! Didn’t you notice?
But I think you should understand: being married, we abstain from sources that confirm our suspicions that we are actually wired not to be good listeners. Otherwise, we’d give up trying!
Too funny. I’ve been trying to tell my wife that if she would just email me, we’d communicate a lot better. Now I have scientific proof.
So much of my confusing life is starting to make sense. Thanks, fellas.
Posted by: Chris Anderson at April 3, 2006 03:52 PMOK guys -
This has to stay here. My wife and I have this funny private joke about Ben and his future “wife.”
There have been several times when she (my wife) has “dreamed” that a certain gal would be expecting and sure enough a few months down the road we find out that has happened. That’s also happened a few times with guys - she will dream that a guy (or gal) will get married and yep - in a short time that happens. It’s a goofy thing - I tell her she’s part charasmatic.
Well here’s the juicy part that will get me in trouble with both Ben and my wife - but who cares - it will be worth it!
Ben visited us here in Gilbert last year when Pro-Teens sent him out here to a conference. He came over to our small group. That night my wife’s very attractive, yet very single cousin was visiting us the same day - She is in a ministry that was at the same conference that Pro-Teens had sent Ben to.
So guess what Toni - my part charasmatic wife dreamed - Yep you guessed it. The good news for Ben is so far my wife has only dreamed of a wedding - no “little feet” in those dreams yet.
Ben - Congratulations to your soon graduation to holy macoroni!
Joel
PS - Hey Ben - btw - You need to give Toni’s cousin a call to set this thing in motion.
(I’m sorry dude - I couldn’t resist)
Joel,
Brother, I hate to disagree with you, but do you really think that a guy who thinks that men’s brains are not designed to listen to women will believe a woman’s dream?
(By the way, what has she dreamed about Jennie and me? We’ll pay for the prophecy. Only don’t blab it all over cyberspace like you did the prophecy about Ben!)
Posted by: Bob at April 3, 2006 09:27 PMChris,
Your email idea… not bad. I hate to admit it, but my wife has instant messaged me from downstairs just to get my attention….
Posted by: Bob at April 3, 2006 09:28 PMJoel,
I had to re-read this about three times before the shock wore off:
There have been several times when she (my wife) has “dreamed” that a certain gal would be expecting and sure enough a few months down the road we find out that has happened. That’s also happened a few times with guys…
Huh??? The flogosphere gets weirder every day.
Posted by: Chris Anderson at April 3, 2006 11:27 PMChris,
I know this is tough for you OBF guys - Please note context of said statement!!!! :)
Blessings Chris! - Of course this gets weirder every day - What do you expect for a blog with a French Name!
Later -
