Repartee of the Week

Heaven forbid we pay any attention to no-name critics [link]of fundamentalism. ~ filosofo

This was a humorous riposte to Ryan Martin’s seemingly derisive questioning of why anyone should pay attention to Phil Johnson’s critique of fundamentalism. Ryan Martin is part of a group of Central students who catch a cold everytime the no-name (or at least anonymous) Remonstrans sneezes. One thing for certain, if Remonstrans had said the very same thing, it would be hailed as the greatest morceau of wisdom ever to proceed from the mouth of a mortal (IF, of course, Remonstrans is a only a mere mortal).

The irony Bob, is that someone who reads and agrees with Dissidens on Remonstrans has the audacity to complain about a “no name critic” of fundamentalism.

I know “no name” was filosofo’s words, but Ryan was certainly concerned about the anonymity of Johnson.

Hey, at least Phil Johnson uses his name when he complains. Some others don’t have the common courtesy to do the same. They complain from behind a made up name. Complaining from the realm of anonymity is the cheap and easy thing to do … shameful, IMO.

Thanks. What’s the award for winning “Repartee of the Week”?

This is funny, Bob.

Hmm…How to say this tactfully?

After linking over to some of these blogs, I guess I’m embarrassed that these are “fundamentalist” students displaying such an, well, such an Attitude. (had to put that “A” in caps to incorporate all I saw while browsing)

Maybe I’ll start saying I graduated from Maranatha to avoid the associations. :-)
