Classical Education: We Pretty Much Need It, Y’all.
I abhor what passes for education in the public system. I am also very unimpressed with the Christian day school movement for a myriad of reasons, the prevalence of shoddy education being just one of them. And I am not persuaded that home-educators home-schoolers fully “get it” either. Presently, I am inclined to educate my child at home, but a good Christian academy with a classical approach would radically alter my inclination.
Ryan Boomershine has thought long and hard on the subject of Classical Education. He is an administrator of a small, traditional Christian day school, but he has already begun to implement significant changes in the school where he serves. In the meantime, his willingness to “think out loud” on the subject should prove fruitful for all of us who share a burden for the education of the next generation. Ryan’s comments will appear in two parts, the first being published on February 15th, and the second on February 16th.

I am simply amazed that someone was able to work “Classical education” and “Y’all” into the same sentence. O, that I had the gift of wordsmithing that you do, Bob.
