Gospel-less Evangelism

Jason Janz delivers his knock-out punch with his well-written article on the most egregious offense of The End of the Spear. It is Gospel-less evangalism. It’s just ism. There is no evangel. Friends, I strongly urge you to read it. It is lengthy, but if you are going to spend two hours watching the film then, for the love of the Gospel, show yourselves to be mature enough to spend some time in good, Christian analysis. You should read it even if you don’t care about the controversy. The Gospel is always worth our attention.

The fact that so many Christians hailed this movie as an evangelistic opportunity is why the issue of Chad Allen’s activism (note that I say “activisim” and not “homosexuality”) is critical and thus it was appropriately condemned. Here is my argument that the main contention with the casting decision is “sin activism.” Sin activism is incongruent with the Gospel message, a message that calls for repentence. But, then again, the message of the movie was Gospel-less. So what was the message?
