The Label of Fundamentalism

At a recent conference on Biblical Belief and Balance in July 2004, Dr. Daniel Davey made this statement in response to a question about the label of Fundamentalism. I think it is excellent. “Excellent” does not mean that I agree with everything, and I have my own thoughts to share in a later post, but I did think this was so encouraging that I requested permission to post his statement from the conference. (This is about six pages long in Word format.)

Thanks for making this available, Bob (and D. Morris too for supplying the manuscript?). I have never yet seen from our camp such a piercing analysis of the current crossroads in Fundamentalism.

The historic and cultural fundamentalist distinction is very useful!
